Meeting Minutes

Welcome and Introduction

  • Attendance sign in sheet passed around.  Attendees introduce themselves and grades of children attending Tavelli.

  • Last Month’s Minutes - passed around copies of last month's minutes.

    • Minutes from the April meeting voted on and approved unanimously.

2025/2026 Schedule + Look at the year

  • First Wednesday of the month, Tavelli Science Room

  • Monthly PTO activities 

    • Kindergarten breakfast August

    • Movie Night September

    •  $20 for 20 November 

    •  Book Fair Fall/Spring

    •  Teacher Appreciation Fall/Spring

      • Staff Welcome back spread done for staff

    •  Walk-a-thon  March 

    • Summer Blast Off May

School Updates (Christine)

  • Focus is growth mindset and doing 1% better every day

    • WINS - Work with purpose, Improve every day, Never give up, Support others

    • Change mindset from I can’t to I can

  • Enrollment

    • Projected 496 (Actual 480 as of September)

    • Will need to payback money to district

  • September Save a Tiger

    • Penny Drive

    • Morning Announcements

    • Working as a school for the goal

    • Naming our “new” tiger

  • Ms. Robinson made Eagle project

    • Celebrating WINS and soaring with wind

  • Enrollment at 480 less than projected of 490

    • With money that is necessary to return to district unable to have full time science teacher

    • 3 track of Kindergarten, 4 track of balance of grades

  • Colorado Dept of Ed high achieving school grant obtained.  

  • Yard signs for future kindergarten students (Try this out in the Spring)

  • MAC bus

    • No MAC bus last summer will work on funding to adding back this summer

      • Typically Monday-Thursday 7weeks.   

      • Serves 90 kids

    • Cost is about $25,000

      • Look for grants, signs to add to bus

Upcoming Events

  • Movie Night (September 12 @ 7:30)

    • Choose Movie - Ballots passed around

    • New this year concession items

      • Looking at buying pizza in bulk with some other snacks

Yearbook (Heather)

  • Been doing yearbooks for 2 years

  • Scholarships process, PTO to send out scholarship request form 

  • Skillman handle orders

Book Fair

  • PTO to send out scholarship request form in conjunction with Yearbook

Venmo

  • Add venmo link to website for ongoing contribution

Dining Fundraisers (Brittany)

  • Penrose in June raised $380

  • Looking into options for this year

Media Center Phase 1 and 2

  • PTO raised money from the walk-a-thon in  March 2024/2025 - $38,000 new bookshelves, seating, final phase is new tables

Grants

  • Parent suggested NoCo Unify
