Meeting Minutes

Attendees: Heather Reider, Melissa Adams, Katie Trodick, Anna Wright, Brittany Ferrans, Kate Walker, Amanda Lager Gleason, Elizabeth Westmoreland, Ben Irwin, Kaitlyn Greenwald, Caty & Mike Ochs, Monica Smith, Aja Gregory, Leyla Badillo, and Christine Hendricks

Welcome and Introduction

  • Attendance sign in sheet passed around.  Attendees introduce themselves and grades of children attending Tavelli.

Vote 

  • Last Month’s Minutes - passed around copies of last month's minutes.

    • Minutes from the November meeting voted on and approved unanimously.


School Updates (Christine)

  • School of Choice + Kindergarten Registration

    • 43 Kinder registrations, 3 sections of Kinder

    • 7 School of choice

  • MacBus 

    • 16,000 raised with another 10, 000 need to completely fund

    • Did not get Otterbox funding

    • Looking for addl ways to get funding 

    • If doesnt get funded this year will probably end for ever

    • Runs Monday- Thursday 9-11:30 for 6 weeks

    • Steam focused

    • 2 teachers, 1 para, 1 bus driver and principal

    • Typically serves 3-35 kids a day only for Tavelli Students

  • Funding

    • 107,000 due back to the district for students enrolled by projections.   As of Jan will now have the projected amount of students  

Events/Projects/Activities

  • National Bagel Bagel Day - Jan. 15, 2026 

    • Not doing this year will do different staff appreciating 

  • Walk-a-thon - March 26

    • Confirmed date chosen

    • Fundraising Priorities

      • Final Phase of Media Center - 8 tables with chairs to replace the old ones; New laminate for the existing shelving and circulation station.

      • Update Teacher Lounge  

        • Committee to talk with staff - Brittany will work on

        • Survey for staff - Ben will create

    • Fundraising Platform: Testing of GiveButter or sign Pledgestar Contract  - Need to decide by 1/9, plan on staying with Pledgestar again

    • Color run approved by vote

    • Corporate Sponsors

      • Update numbers

      • Walk-a-thon: 4 sponsors -$1750 

    • Update website

      • Will be live by end of the month

    • T-shirt Design Contest 

      • Will start beginning of February

    • Volunteer Opp: Need Prize Coordinators 

  • Yearbook 

    • Order updates - 67  as of Jan 6

    • Skillman doing all the ordering

    • Orders taken through mid April

    • Yearbook Design Contest for front and back covers in March

    • Yearbook $500 per advertisement:  3 sponsors so far! Total of $1500

  • PTO Sponsored Directory

    • Second Round due 1/31

    • Look at adding business to directory

  • Kindness night

    • Sometime in February

  • Steam night

    • April 22nd

      • K-2nd 5-6:30

      • 3rd-5th 6:30-8

    • Looking for volunteers

    • Possible sponsorship for stations

    • Looking for help from CSU - Amanda and Melissa will send emails
